My name is Hilary, and I am a 23 year old grad student at Tennessee Temple University. I have always had a heart for missions and for children living in third world countries. I want all children to know that there is hope in Jesus Christ, and that He came for them! My dream is to someday start and run an orphanage. If that does not become a reality, I would still like to work with children living in third world countries. I have a passion for South and Central America, and I have visited Ecuador, Bolivia, and Haiti. I have left pieces of my heart in each of these countries.
My other passion is sponsoring children through Compassion International. I began sponsoring my precious Rodrigo in August 2010, and it instantly became a huge part of my life. Right now I sponsor 13 children and correspond with 9 others from all over the world. I have children in Brazil, Uganda, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Togo, Kenya, Haiti, Ecuador, the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. I love all of those children with all of my heart and I love to pray for them and write them letters. And it is always a joy to hear back from them. In June of 2011, I became an official advocate for Compassion. I do presentations about child sponsorship and share the joys of sponsorship with the people around me. Last April, I had the amazing opportunity to meet my Rosa, a girl that I sponsor in Bolivia. It was a life changing experience and gave me even more of a heart to advocate for these children living in poverty!
That’s really all there is to know about me!
